Leading UK-based online pharmacy Pharmacy2U joins the EAEP
Brussels, 3 July 2023 – the European Association of E-Pharmacies (EAEP) welcomes its newest member – Pharmacy2U – to the group of leading online pharmacies in Europe. The EAEP is expanding the membership base to a new area – the UK, reaching 22 members.
Established in 1999, Pharmacy2U is the largest online pharmacy in the UK, with a commitment to safe and effective patient-centred digital healthcare. Utilising innovative technology and an experienced team, they have been improving healthcare accessibility for over two decades.
In collaboration with the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), they have pioneered the electronic transfer of prescriptions in England, and currently manage repeat prescriptions for over 750,000 patients, dispensing over 1.5 million NHS prescription items monthly with industry leading levels of safety. This helps to alleviate the pressure of routine dispensing tasks from high street pharmacies, allowing them to provide a wider array of funded face-to-face clinical services for patients.
Pharmacy2U also offers a growing range of clinical services such as the NHS “New Medicine Service”; a consumer health business for the sale of non-prescription medicines and other pharmacy items; a private online doctor service, offering remote consultations; and has been providing vaccination services across England since 2020. Pharmacy2U’s contribution during the COVID-19 pandemic showcases their commitment to integrated healthcare and service extension. These all underscore their vision of becoming a world-leading, patient-centric digital healthcare provider. Pharmacy2U’s admission to the EAEP will contribute to fostering the sharing of best practices and innovative solutions among the membership, as well as the overall footprint and relevance of the sector in Europe.
