EAEP expands membership to leading e-pharmacy Vamida
Brussels, 4 September 2023 – the European Association of E-Pharmacies (EAEP) is delighted to welcome a new member to the group. Vamida, a leading online pharmacy based in Czech Republic and operating in Austria, expands the footprint of the EAEP to 25 members.
Established in 2012, Vamida is among the largest e-pharmacies operating in Austria. Vamida delivers both Over-the-Counter (OTC) and Beauty and Personal Care (BPC) products to around 200,000 patients and customers, ensuring a high delivery rate of 96% of fulfilled orders within 24 hours. In 2018, Vamida merged with the Austrian online pharmacy Apobag, one of the leading online pharmacies in the Austrian market. The merger with Vamida was a developmental milestone - another important step towards growth and expansion.
The CEO of Vamida, Thomas Mittelbach, says “At Vamida we are convinced that the online domain will increasingly play and instrumental role in the pharmacy of the future. In this sense, we need complementarity between physical and online pharmacies, breaking some of the barriers that still prevent patients from taking full advantage of the opportunities stemming from digitalisation of healthcare.
