EU Pharma Legislation – allowing online access to prescription medicines

The European Association of E-Pharmacies (EAEP) and the Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacy (ASOP EU) hosted the event “The EU Pharmaceutical Legislation - Why should online access to prescription medicines be allowed”. The speakers discussed the opportunities to ensure equitable access across the Union through the revision of the current regulatory framework.

In addition, a report recently published by Copenhagen Economics, and commissioned by ASOP EU, was officially launched. “Unlocking the benefits of online access to prescription medicines across the EU” looks at the state of play in 5 EU Member States (Spain, France, Italy, Germany and Sweden), highlighting the benefits of improved access to pharmacies operating online in terms of convenience, especially for chronic patients and their carers, as well as those who live in rural areas.
