EAEP broadens network on digital health with ECHAlliance membership

Brussels, 6 December 2022 – to contribute to promoting access to and exchange with the e-pharmacy sector, as well as to broaden the network of digital health experts the European Association of E-Pharmacies (EAEP) has officially joined the European Connected Health Alliance (ECHAlliance).

The new membership builds on the common belief that digital health has an instrumental role in bringing healthcare systems and patients closer together, towards the best possible health outcome.

ECHAlliance is a community, registered in the UK, gathering the largest worldwide network with 20,000+ experts in 78 countries, building ecosystems with nations, regions, and cities. These ecosystems are also partly funded by e.g. EU´s research and innovation framework programme Horizon 2020 and its successor Horizon Europe. Linked to ECHAlliance are the Digital Health Society, the Digital Health Observatory, and the Global Health Connector Partnership.

As the body representing innovative healthcare providers, the EAEP will tap into the 70 ongoing international ecosystems within ECHAlliance to transfer best practices and policy solutions to EAEP members, while advancing the works with key partners to transform and digitalise healthcare social care systems. During the first ever in-person event organised by the EAEP on 27 October, the Association already had the pleasure to have Andy Bleaden, ECHAlliance´s Communities Director, on its panel.

EAEP President, Stefan Feltens, says “the EAEP is excited about the new collaboration with ECHAlliance. Our goal remains to intensify the exchange of best practices between and beyond members on digital health, with a focus on the e-pharmacy sector’s vision, in order to promote innovative solutions that improve the quality of health and wellbeing of citizens”.

EAEP Vice-President, Walter Hess, says “with the membership of ECHAlliance, the e-pharmacy sector enters into dialogue with stakeholders at the global level on key topics affecting the digital health domain. As a multi-stakeholder partnership, ECHAlliance will act as a key platform for the EAEP to generate concrete added value for its members and impact for citizens. We are fully aligned with ECHAlliance’s mission to drive sustainable change and disruption in the delivery of health and social care”.
