First Bulgarian online pharmacy (Subra) joins the EAEP

Brussels, 1 February 2023 – the European Association of E-pharmacies (EAEP) is pleased to welcome its first Bulgarian member. Subra, a leading online pharmacy, expands the footprint of the EAEP to a new country as well as the voice of the e-pharmacy sector in Europe. 

On 1 February 2023, Subra has officially joined the Association as the first and sole member from Bulgaria. The membership of Subra will provide the EAEP and its network with key data and best practices from a key country, where the online sale of prescription medicines is still forbidden.   

The e-pharmacy has a long and successful track record in offering professional healthcare service online, including remote consultation and extensive product portfolio (OTC medicines, medical supplies and dermal cosmetics). The Managing Director of Subra, Bayan Dotchev, says “As the first EAEP member from Bulgaria, we aim to leverage our expertise and knowledge of the growing Bulgarian e-pharmacy market to advance the discussions at the EU level, towards the much-needed liberalisation of the online sale of prescription medicines. In this sense, our participation within the EAEP will reinforce the exchange of views within the sector and input provided to policymakers and partners”.
